    • Definition: A centrifugal pump with multiple impellers mounted on a common shaft, each stage adding incremental pressure to the fluid.
    • Key Principle: The total head = sum of heads from each stage.
    • Typical Stages: 2–10 (special designs up to 30).
    • Pressure Range: 150 psi – 5,000 psi (1–35 MPa).
